There’s a famous quote that goes something like, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” And it’s famous because it’s true! If you continue living your life inside your comfortable little bubble, then you’re not actually living life like it’s meant to be lived, full of excitement and experiences.

Sure, you feel secure and content, but you’re just going through life’s motions. You’re not doing anything special, you’re not challenging yourself or imparting growth in any way. Worst of all, you’re not doing anything to accomplish your goals and dreams in life (and don’t lie, we all have dreams).

Our dreams excite us, they breathe new life into our existence and push us for more. If your desires are big enough, and you want them badly enough, they will definitely take you far out of your comfort zone. They will take you to sometimes uncomfortable and unknown places. Maybe you’ll be scared at first, and that’s totally OK and normal.

It’s normal to be scared of the unknown. But sooner or later, the unknown will become known, tomorrow will be today, and you’ll find there are lots of new things, new ideas, and new adventures waiting for you beyond your comfort zone. It sounds pretty exciting, doesn’t it?

Ask yourself, does your life inside your little safety bubble ever feel truly exciting? I bet not. Because comfort zones are far from exciting. In fact, they are the exact opposite of exciting. They are predictable and repetitive.

Your dreams on the other hand are exciting, so don’t think about burying them down into the dark and hidden part of your soul. Instead, bring them out into the light, let your dreams and your passion become the steering wheel to your life. Use them to help guide you to the successes you want and deserve.

It’s okay for brief moments of reprieve to hide in your comfort zone, but only for short periods of time. We all need to take breaks. However, don’t get caught out by remaining there. Don’t get stuck only to realize the bubble is draining the life out of you, your energy is beginning to run low and you start living a monotonous life.

If you were watching your life on TV, you’d be watching it in black and white, and on mute. It will literally drive you to tears. You’ll feel like everyone else is running your life, like you’ve lost control, you’ll feel unworthy or more and dare I say bored of the daily grind.

Life outside of your comfort zone will be popping with color and in full volume. Dreams and passions invigorate the soul and bring with them hope and empowerment. When you work towards what you truly want life gets easy. You feel like you’re living with purpose.

Dreams aren’t meant to be stuffed inside comfort zones. They are meant to be chased, they are meant to be accomplished, they are meant to excite you so you can live a more interesting and fulfilling life! So what do you choose?
