No one’s perfect. We’re all human and have a mix of positive and negative traits. The positive traits are, of course, the traits you want to keep. They expand us and help us with personal growth as well as progressing on our life’s journey. And the negative ones? Well, those are the ones you need to get rid of. NOW!

Read on to find out which negative traits you need to be rid of, so you can finally accomplish your goals in life – with ease!

Procrastination

Procrastination does more harm than good, if any good at all… When you procrastinate, you’re purposely pushing back something you’re supposed to do now to a later time.

It could be because you are working to a deadline that’s still a while away or maybe the task that needs doing is too difficult or too boring. So, you’ll do the task later when you’re feeling up to it and more motivated.

While these are all perfectly valid reasons, it still doesn’t excuse the fact that we often tend to forget, we continue to delay and therefore run out of time. You may end up turning in some rushed, poor-quality piece of work or nothing at all and that’s going to only lead to negative self talk and future procrastination developing into a low energy cycle.

When you’re working towards your goals, you need to get rid of procrastination as much as possible. Do what you can when you can. Don’t wait until the deadline’s close or your back’s against the wall to begin what should of been started ages ago. A good way to overcome procrastination is to work out how your resistance shows up and work to overcome it when it shows up. Don’t keep procrastinating until you’re left with no other choice but to work on your tasks last minute with no energy and a shitty attitude, or not do anything and then regret your time wasted.

Pessimism

Pessimistic people are toxic. When you’re pessimistic, you only forecast the doom and gloom, you don’t see the light that’s often right in front of you. It’s like you’ve lost all hope for your dreams and life’s purpose – and you haven’t even begun yet!

If you truly want to succeed in life, make changes, then you need to be rid of your pessimistic attitude right away. But how?

For starters, you should learn to start shifting your thinking, noticing when negative self talk arises, acknowledging it and then allowing it to pass through without paying it much attention. Then filling the space with positive self talk instead. When possible surround yourself with positive people who will build you up and motivate you to reach for the stars. They’ll support you and offer you advice so you can keep moving forward instead of dragging you down. You’ll then have a supportive system of friends who will share your excitements and will be genuinely happy for your successes.

Insincerity

When you’re insincere, you come off as a deceitful person and people will lose all their trust in your authenticity. Because that’s what you are – a deceiver, a liar and someone who is never impeccable with their word. Sincerity comes from the heart. Insincere people will eventually get exposed either through the words that come out of their mouth or the actions they take.

Either way, you don’t want to be labeled as someone who’s insincere and untrustworthy. When you’re living your life’s purpose, chasing your dreams, make sure you are sincere at all times, with others and to yourself. Follow through, say what you mean and do what you say you will. Otherwise, you’ll only be fooling yourself, spirit won’t be working with you to draw in everything you want you’re energy will begin to attract all you don’t want and in the end you’ll only be wasting your time.

These three negative traits may not seem like much but when left unchecked can reek havoc on your life very quickly and things will spiral out of control. You may still want all the good, positive things in life but to get there one must start shifting in thought and energy to get there. Why would you sabotage your dreams with something like this? Something that’s easy to start shifting once you catch it happening. Any negative trait can be turned around, all it takes is the willingness to do so. Are you ready for change? Ready to take back control? It all starts with you and what you are willing to do.
